Personalised US Medical warning ID 'boot' tag

US Army embossed red medical ID / warning tag.

57mm x 32mm x 0.8mm (2.25" x 1.25" x 0.03")

Red anodised aluminium with embossed text.

Exact replica of the tags issued to US forces.

This tag is normally worn in addition to the regular stainless steel tag set and includes essential medical information to inform first responders and medical personnel of any notable medical conditions or allergies.

This is important in the field since medical records may not be available and the patient might not be in a condition to advise.

Also known as 'Boot' tags due to traditionally being laced into the left boot between the 2nd and 3rd eyelet.

Introduced in August 18, 1968, these tags include details of any conditions, for example:

Allergy to any medications eg. Penicillin
Sensitivity to biological products such as horse sera
Sensitivity to immunising agents
Convulsive disorder
Diabetes mellitus
Any notable medications being taken
Bee sting allergy
Sickle cell disease (specify)
Adrenal insufficiency
Wearing contact lenses

US Army regulations require that conditions noted on the tag should be permanent in nature and supported by a confirmed diagnosis.

You are of course free to include whatever information you'd like on the tags, however the US Army layout is as follows:
